we were all walking back to the car after spending a day in aberystwyth, wales and i had to take a picture. i thought it was a riot watching tom's bum making more and more of an appearance the more we walked.

there's nothing like coming around the corner and seeing something cool. i had to stop and take a picture. this was an old forge from 1752. i believe this was also on our drive to glencoe.

how cute is this?! can you see why i fell in love with fluffy orange highland cows? this is such a cute little baby highland cow...i don't think security at heathrow airport would've been too happy if i tried to smuggle one home.

ms. lizzie and me. she was one smart, independent gal. i enjoyed my time with her very much and still miss her. she's going to be all grown up the next time i see her...makes me sad.

here's a picture of me and clare in the highlands. this was taken at a stop on the side of the road on the way to glencoe. it was an absolutely beautiful day...clare would have you believe that it rained every day while in scotland! the drive was worth it...the mountains and valleys were gorgeous.

ignorant american...

here's a photo of me leaning against a 1,400 year old wall. yes, that's right... 1,400 years old. the wall is called hadrians wall and it stretches across the width of great britain...it was built by the romans. it was once 6 feet tall and 3 or 4 feet wide. what's sad, especially since i studied history, is that i never knew this existed.

the statue looking out towards the town of stirling is of robert the bruce. i took this picture on the first ramparts of stirling castle. if you look closely in the distance you can see a river...it's about a mile away. the castles' canons were able to blow up the bridge on it...i thought that was amazing. if you've seen the movie "braveheart" you'll have a better understanding of the history of stirling, scotland...if not, you should watch it.

here's a picture of the harvey family. it's still strange to think that the last time i saw the two of them...they didn't have any children. the cabin we stayed in was directly across the loch.

gotta love the fluffy orange cows...

i fell in love with the fluffy orange highland cows. i've never once thought of owning cattle, but i can imagine it now. cute fluffy orange cows, handsome rugged-looking men in kilts, scottish butter tablets (a sweet)...why did i leave?

here's me and my little buddy tom. i miss listening to him say "where are we going?" with his cute english accent. we had a very good time together.

i thought this was an adorable photo of clare and tom. a friend of mine upon seeing this photo had commented on how sweet of a person clare looks to be...and i said she was right on the target. excellent mom, sweet wife and wonderful friend...and it shows in her face.

beautiful eh? this was our location in scotland...loch ludnaig. the mountains around us were beautiful...even when they were covered in mist.
